  • Pit Bull Terrier
Moses is our newest family member and still in need of medical treatments since his rescue. He is a wonderful boy that is terribly itchy with non-contagious demodex and recovering from severe eye infections. Moses was found after being completely submerged in mud up to his head in a rising creek bed in a rural area of Georgia. He has not stopped saying "thank you" to everyone he meets while wearing his new red TTR collar. He adores children and completely came out of his shell when he met two kidos at his tv interview with Fox 5. We have not had the opportunity to fully introduce him to other dogs in quarantine but he has calmly wagged his tail on the other side of the fence. He is nonreactive towards cats. We are still learning about Moses and will continue to share what we learn about this handsome soon to be a healthy, fluffy boy. Look at those wrinkles!

Optimus is about 1-2 years old, male, neutered and is 37 lbs. He's a little pocket pittie! He's super sweet and so far is getting along with his dog mates over at the trainer's house. He is currently HW Positive but is receiving treatment. Because of his HW, he's been living a low key life, but we know this pup will enjoy an active home!

Anya is a happy girl, always looking for a pair of hands to pat her belly and play with her ears! Her coat is pure velvet, and somehow she still has puppy breath at 2 years old. She is not very picky about her new home. Anya loves the snow, suns in a grassy patch, or would love to explore the beach! Her skills are, but not limited to, walking, running, hiking, playing with all the toys, and could even do agility of some sort. Don't forget kissing, hugging, lap warming, cuddling, and overall loving! Anya is wonderful with all humans, medium to large male dogs, and kids! We would suggest the kids be older because Anya is a very energetic and strong. She still needs help learning not to jump. Anya loves new people so much she literally jumps with glee! Anya is high energy so finding a playful male playmate to wear each other out would make her (and you) very happy! She could also be an only dog with an active family.

Lucy is a soulful pitbull-vizsla mix, overflowing with love and joy. Two Tailz pulled Lucy from a local shelter just hours before she was euthanized. You wouldn't know it watching her booty wiggle at incredible speeds and she truly laughs through her happy tail! She is a low energy pup and perfectly content snuggling on the couch, keeping your feet warm at your desk, or leaning against you while soaking in the spring sun! Lucy is excellent with human, kids, most dogs, and catz (pending a meet & greet). She has beautiful big ears that make her one of our most endearing adorable adoptable. Lucy is ready to hear all the sweet nothings you can think of! She will ruv you with all of her heart.! Two Tailz Rescue did not anticipate the substantial costs associated with Lucy who came to us with terrible, painful injuries from her abusers at the shelter. She was also very emaciated and dehydrated. Lucy is a fighter and now needs to know the love of a happy home.To donate, visit www.paypal.com and use email info@twotailzrescue.org.

  • Prefers home without small kids
Shelby is growing into a kind, beautiful, and hairy girl after living on the streets in a very rough Atlanta neighborhood inflicted with demodex, skin infections, worms, emaciation, HW+, and everything else you can think of to make anyone and anything painfully uncomfortable. She spent 3 weeks in the ICU at one of our veterinary clinics and defied the odds! Shelby is a fighter and we can now teach her that we humans are in this fight together! Our dear Shelby is in an incredible foster home where she will continue to heal from a myriad of medical issues and be socialized into home living with many supportive pack members to lead the way. She still has a ways to go for her beautiful coat to completely grow back, but she is now ready for her forever home! She will need a patient home to give her confidence, assurance, and let her move at her own pace. Shelby now takes treats from her foster's hand and will let people approach her at adoption day for a few pets. She is still learning that the right people will always have her back and will protect her for the rest of her life. We need your help to cover the cost of Shelby's extensive medical treatment! Two Tailz Rescue steps up for all homeless and dumpeddogz whenever we get a call to send out a rescue team trap or intise with treats to make sure they are safe! Just looking at the outside we knew Shelby would need a lot of medical help in the inside as well to survive. To donate please go to: https://www.gofundme.com/savingshelbyTTR

Here is your chance to own your very own Singing and Dancing Elvis!!! Meet Elvis The Hound Dog! He sings with a baritone voice and can move those hips!!! All he wants is love and affection. He even rode in a golf cart... He actually met the people responsible for saving him by jumping in their golf cart and hitching a ride. Elvis loves people, kids, and all dogs big or small. A multiple dog home would be his favorite. He is not a jumping player but just wants to have someone to explore with. He is crate trained but loves to sleep in the sun in the backyard when his foster mommy is home. He is great on a leash but does enjoy running in the yard. A fenced in yard is best for Elvis as he likes to see what the neighbors are up to! He can also be a total couch potato and just snuggle with his people!!! Elvis is ready for his furever family!

Sweet Pennie was pulled from a kill shelter on the last day before her time was up. She is a sweet girl who is a little bit shy at first but warms up quickly. People say she reminds them of Petey from the Little Rascals!!! Pennie simply INSISTS on taking her bone with her whenever she goes outside like a woman with a purse. She hides it in the plain sight so as not to loose it herself... never fail she will bring it in with her once she is done. Pennie played with other dogs at the shelter, but was sadly attacked. She is now a little skittish meeting new dogz but it is clear she just wants to play. A home with a calm, submissive dog would be wonderful for her. She will need a home with no cats and no small children. Pennie doesn't always realize her size and strength as jumping is something we are working on. Boy does she have a nose! Because she is part pointer she would be a great hiker and sniffer for outdoor enthusiasts. Pennie is crate trained and housebroken, but also does very well roaming free in the house. She is a strong girl who needs leash training and general commands. She will sit for a treat. Pennie needs a patient family to give her a home and all the love she deserves.

Spunky senior Teddy looking for a home! When we pulled Teddy from a shelter, we assumed he was a sedate elderly gentleman. We could not have been more wrong! This adorable little fuzz ball has a lot of spunk and personality! And he’s also a sweet snuggle bug – what a great combination! Teddy may not be able to see well, but he learned the ropes at his foster home in 24 hours – how to maneuver around the house, get to the door, go down the steps into the yard, and back again. And he loves to run with the other dogs. He waits patiently for his food and treats, and ignores the cat. Teddy does well with other dogs, although he can be startled on occasion if he doesn’t know another dog is there. He is a happy, loveable guy who can still get into mischief - chewing on paper is his favorite way to get into trouble! We prefer a home with at least one other relatively calm dog that Teddy can learn from. No kids under 10 due to the startle factor. About Teddy: Approx. 14 yrs old, 21 lbs. Terrier mix/Cockerpoo Neutered, HW negative, housetrained Nearly blind, cataracts in both eyes Loves to snuggle! PS – Teddy was an excellent, patient “banana” at Halloween!

Meet Brody the mighty!!! Brody is one of the most remarkable dogs that we (and our vets) have ever seen. This dear boy has overcome tremendous odds to survive and thrive. He was rescued from a shelter and diagnosed with the worst case of heartworms our vet has ever see in more than 20 years of practice. He also suffered from a severe upper respiratory infection that kept him in isolation for three weeks. The doctors gave him a 50/50 chance of surviving HW treatment, but Brody had other ideas and has come through it with flying colors! Now he is a happy, loving, joyful boy who just enjoys life and being with people! We are all convinced that his spunk and upbeat personality are what allowed him to survive. He will do fine with another calm female dog in the home, or as an only dog. He can be particular about dogs but his current foster sister keeps him in line! Sunbathing is his favorite pastime!!!

Macon and Tybee are a bonded pair and two of three sisters who were rescued from an abandoned house in a tough neighborhood of Atlanta. They had a rough start orphaned as puppies. They were very sick, full of parasites and needed extensive veterinary care. However, they are now healthy, happy dogs cuddling on the sofa or playing in the yard. They are total goofs and find themselves in the most hilarious sleeping positions! Macon and Tybee have been in a wonderful foster home their entire rescue life and we can't comprehend separating them at this point. If everything gets quiet in the house it's not because they are getting into trouble but snuggling together curled up in a ball somewhere. These sweet girls love all people and kids, but are selective with other dogs so their ideal home will require a meet and greet. Two dogs and twice the love!!!

Hancock is a bouncy, lovable goofball who never stops making you smile. Hancock has never met a stranger he didn't like. He needs to be in a home with another playful dog to keep up with. Don't let him fool you! He can be a total couch potato when there is an open lap. Hancock also loves to lounge in the pool, and is not ashamed to wear a tutu. On hot days he loves rolling around in a kiddie pool full of ice. He will be in there till it is all melts! When Hancock was taken in to the cat room, he sniffed the cages and did not react when he got clawed on the snout by a cat. What a good boy! He will make a great addition to your active family with his lively personality, good looks, and adventurous spirit. It won’t take long for you to fall in love with this very special dog!!!

Didn’t find the pet you were looking for? Check back often, as we always have new adoptables listed. Search here for more adoptable pets.

Two Tailz K9 ResQ is not breed-specific, and has a variety of dogs from puppies to seniors for adoption. Each deserves a chance to have a loving home. If you don’t find the dog you are looking for today, please check back regularly or use the Search function on this page, as there are thousands of dogs who need loving homes. We work with a large network of breed-specific rescues, so if there is a particular breed for which you are looking, please contact us at info@twotailzrescue.org and we can help find the dog who will steal your heart with one of our partner rescues. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered (“fixed”) and microchipped before they are available for adoption–therefore, they cannot be bred. Home checks, veterinary references, and personal references are required to foster or adopt our rescues.

We do our best to place our dogs in ‘forever homes.’ When you adopt from us, you sign a contract that requires you to return the dog to us in any instance that you are unable to care or keep your adopted dog – our rescues cannot be sold or given away to anyone in any circumstance.

Our adoption fee is $250. This contribution helps offset expenses incurred in rescuing dogs and getting them healthy to be adoptable. Some of our expenses include all veterinary expenses: full vaccinations, any deworming (as needed), treating ear infections, kennel cough, heartworm tests, heart worm treatment (as necessary), spaying/neutering, and training if necessary. Other costs include purchasing martingale collars, ID tags, leashes, food, crates, bowls, etc. for each of our rescues.
